Comments:

When checking around in Friday evening the 10 seem to be promising with better
that expected DX signals.

Saturday morning brought lots of mult, with no problem working Pacific area.
This attracted my attention to a degree that was almost too late to run some
JAs. Similar good signals, when west had opened in Saturday midday. US runs
were decent, but not huge in the afternoon. A number of 03 calls with not too
big signals. At the end of the day was quite happy with mult, but less with
number of QSOs.

The weather outside in Saturday has been terrible. Very intense rain, some
lightning from midday to the evening as well. Rain also brought static, the
upper antenna has been close to unuseful most of the afternoon for receiving.
The right arm had spend most of the time on the antenna switch.

After waking up in a snowing day, the Sunday morning opening started slightly
later. Most of the mults had been under the roof, there was nice run of JAs on
a clear frequency. When headed to west, a number of breaks occurred due to high
static noise level. Real winter outside with snow and high winds.

The band looked like to be closed in a quick manner much earlier than expected.
Even some EU signals were at the noise level. Being surprised had been chasing
around as much as possible, and after almost an hour started to be alive again.
Not very many signals, but some rare DX signals were again over S9 at almost
empty band. The low rate continued for another two hours. At my closing it
would still be possible to get some contacts, in particular G, EI direction, as
well occasional US.

There were some nice surprises as well. After being almost content that KH6 is
not reachable, KH7X suddenly replied at 0822Z coming over south pole! Had been
also listening to KH6LC over the west path in Sunday evening at 20Z, the band
was otherwise almost empty. KH6LC had US pileup, also picked a PA station and
was probably not aware that he penetrates deeper into EU.

Zone 1 has been chased a number of times without luck. Pileups of KL7RA,
VE8GER, VY1EI, WL7E, WL7BDO, AL9A were there, also barely heard WL7E in Sun
evening, but no luck for ticking the last zone.

Tributes to all SO, MS, MM stations that managed to sum for even higher QSO
numbers. It was great being on 10 m after almost 10 years.

73s,
Marko, S50K
