Comments:
Had a good time, but SO2R only worked for a few extra contacts Saturday evening
as the second rig kept randomly going into TX mode. I went single-radio after
wasting too much time trying to fix things on the fly. Will have that figured
out by CQWW.
Running one band at a time made the second half of the contest very slow.
Barely squeaked past my previous best for low-power Qs and score. Thanks to the
new Ontario mults, still had 80 sections without ME, NNY or AB in the mix. NN2L
was under a deep pileup on 20M when I heard him, so I moved on and he was gone
when I returned five minutes later. Lesson learned. Nothing heard from AB or
ME.
Some really great operators, and some very poor operators out there. Who says
it's all right to leap onto a frequency without a QRL? Happened time and time
again this weekend. Fortunately, high-power callers seeking the BC mult soon
chase away anyone in the narrow passband. It's like wearing a shield.
Will be back for more CW at the end of the month. Looking forward to CQWW.
Thanks for the contacts.
