Comments:
As usual, I set out to beat last years score. After a slow start Friday night, I
realized it was not to be.
I reset my goal to just break one million points. Even that was not so easy
this year. The bright spot was I was able to have some good runs. Thought I
might make 100 one hour on 15, but came up with 95.
Thanks to Ron, W8RJL for suggesting I at least do a last minute Beverage on the
ground (BOG). I used it for almost all my receiving on 160 and 80 meters! I
wound the transformer the night before the contest and spent Friday pulling
wire in the woods.
Rig was my K3 and Drake L7 at 700 watts.
Antennas: bent half square on 160, full size half square on 80, dipoles on 10,
20 and 40, and a 2 element wire Yagi on 15 pointed to Europe.
73,
Don
