Comments:
At tower base where main coax and 12-vdc ant. control wires exit from an
underground PVC tube, troubleshooting some faulty antenna selection revealed a
nasty problem. With contest over now, can get out tomorrow and do more. When
I simply picked up the 8-wire male-female connector, I heard relays clicking
inside my new rx and tx antenna switch. It looks as if the small wire tie I
added to the male connector slipped due to leveraged wind and actually slipped
in a space that ensured the two connector would be intermittent. So the new
switch was replaced by a $3 coax barrel between the station coax and the
antenna needed at the time (freezing my fingers in the cold). Once I resolved
this though, I was amazed how well my new regulated!!!, 3500 vdc power supply
has helped my luck in this contest. It was wonderful to have a new ace in the
