My choice of operating periods seemed to work quite well. I did three x 3 hour
blocks until 2100 with 60 minute breaks, and then 0630 to 0930 on Sunday
morning. Part of this thinking was down to not having a 'dx' antenna for 80m.
It did start very slow however but things clearly improved as the day wore on.
10m seemed to have signals every time I checked and in the end I exceeded last
year's 24 hour Open HP score by quite a margin.
Much of the fun with this contest is down to those who make the effort to
travel and great kudos, and thanks, to them....
K3 and a Cobwebb at 10m for 10/15/20, 1/4 wave vertical for 40m and a 102ft
doublet at 8m max height.
