Comments:

Had a good time altho I expected a bit more from conditions according to the
numbers but we can't complain. Starting a contest at local noon hour, I had a
pretty relaxed approach, I had decided to play and just have fun not really
having any goals except to operate and have fun doing it. So you would think
with this in mind, when I decided to move to 80M yesterday night, not finding
any signals on the band and SWR through the roof on the vertical I would just
say 'oh well no 80M this time...'. Naaaa! This was just what I needed to make a
'real' contest out the EA ha ha! So in complete darkness and , of course temps
still below freezing here at night, I went out to the roof of the building to
see what the problem was. And sure enough one of the feeding pigtails had let
go. So back to the shack I looked for some temporary fix and after some back
and forth the vertical was back on the air. Took a good hour out the 80M prime
time but put some spice into the contest which is nice (sometimes).
I had some issues with N1MM logging wrong serial numbers but other than that it
was a pretty fun weekend.
It is becoming a trend to complete an exchange confirming the received
number...I honestly strongly disagree with this technique, it can cause a lot
of confusion and does nothing to make the exchange more accurate. Just give out
YOUR exchange , that's what we need. Also I would take 73 out of your reply
macro in a contest that requires sending a serial number, I will let you figure
out why...Just some suggestions...take it or leave it as you please!
So thanks all for the Qs and the fun and look to see you agn soon.
73, Fabi va2up
