Radio: IC-746 100w
Antennas: 40m dipole @ 25'
30m sloping dipole
Most of my day was spent traveling back from a PJ2 work trip. Got home around
0100z, had to rehang one leg of the 40m dipole, and then I was QRV.
10m & 15m were both open very well from SW Ohio to W1/2/3 for a good while
late in the evening (at least from 0200z - 0330z) but, as is often the case, no
one was around. I decided to make it my mission to find and move as many W1/2/3
ops as possible to these bands. I got a few "HI HI....sri" responses.
Some couldn't figure out what I was asking and went back to unanswered CQs.
Fortunately, a few took me up on the request - and all QSYs/QSOs were completed
easily with big signals!
Made my 2nd and 3rd ever QSOs on 160m from this QTH! Tnx K9PG and N8EA, who
both copied me right away. Called a few others but only got "??"
Didn't press it....wanted to keep the radio's tuner - and finals - happy. (see
antennas above)
