Comments:
I thought conditions were only fair this year compared to last. Certainly 80
was almost useless the second night. Had a nice noon till 3 pm break both days
in addition to reasonable night time sleep periods. 15 meters was open late
into the evening local time Saturday night but no activity. I heard whispers
of European signals on 10 meters Sunday around 1630z but no joy. An eight foot
high four square and a K3 with a PR-10 pre amp just is not competitive on 10
meters with marginal/poor conditions.
Kudos to the 70 plus European recipients of my QTCs, they were flawless and
fast. Win-Test makes me sound like I know what I am doing (not).
I did some maintenance and improvement on the ground system on most of the
vertical four squares and I think it helped. I consider this contest the start
of the new contest season.
