Comments:
Compared to my best ever effort in 2011, mults were down 5% and q's up 6% with
score up 5%. The rtty skimmers made a major splash this year with lots and
lots
of spots. Normally I can work the band map clear but not this year. It was
also great to get spotted as this gave new waves of callers each spot. Spot
accuracy is not as good as with the cw skimmer but there are also not yet
enough
rtty skimmers to do majority voting.
It seemed hard to work the US multipliers this year. I was either on the wrong
bands or skip just was long.
Had a couple of computer issues, with the tensest moments when N1MM proceeded
to shut down one window at a time during a run. Restarting N1MM put everything
back pretty much in the right spot and I could keep going.
I did run three radios this year. This lets me sit in a slow pileup with one
radio and act like a dxer without losing too much rate/score. It did seem
hard
to get going again if I ever took a break. Probably no real score impacted,
but
it did keep me occupied. (It is tiring to keep it all going though).
It was also obvious that running the impoved elecraft fsk modulation, stations
were not bothered siting right next to me. They however seemed to challenge
my receiving with click sidebands (or maybe I'm just way weaker than they
are!)
