Comments:
ARRL SS is a great contest. I've been participating since the early 1970's and
look forward to this every year.
I went to bed Saturday night at midnight with 72 sections in the log. It was
looking good for a sweep compared to last year where I was one short. Sunday
proved to be challenging finding the remaining 11.
At 2100 on Sunday I still needed AR, NL and QC. I was called by VO1BQ on 40 for
NL. Then a QSY to 20M with a concentrated S&P for AR. Finally found WB0RUR
at 2351. The it was just QC for the sweep. For some reason I have difficulty
finding QC from my QTH. I decided the best chance would be 40 or 80. I QSY'd to
40M and started calling CQ. I was called by VE2FK at 0023! I had the SWEEP with
2.5 hours to go.
Many thanks to those that called and especially the great QRP Op's out there.
I achieved my goals...CLEAN SWEEP and 100K points. (Personal best score)
