Setup:

Rig: K3+KPA500
Ant 160 and 80: Remotely switchable “T” loaded wire vertical suspended by
18 meter tall Spiderpole.
Ant 40-10: SteppIR (BigIR) vertical.

This was a field day style (out of suitcase) operation in which I had taken
along 180 lb. of gear on the airplane down to 9Y.

I would like to mention a huge thank-you to Chris, 9Y4D whose assistance was
invaluable to make this trip possible. I had only two days available prior to
the contest to setup gear and make arrangements. Chris made some lengthy trips
around the island to pick me up at the airport, take me to the T&T
telecom
office and then drive us to the opposite side of the island where I had
intended to operate from.

In addition to all this Chris remained around to help me install both verticals
and setup things up. Thanks to him everything went miraculously well. I had
landed in Trinidad at 7am and by 6pm both verticals were erected and tuned.

I would also like to thank Dragan, VE3FF and also VE3OUV in putting up with my
repeated requests to raise and tune the 160/80 vertical after they had modified
the LC match-box which was not working well on 80 meters. I think the work paid
off since we understood well its behavior after testing it several times. Once
it was erected for real in 9Y it took us less than 10 minutes to bring it to a
perfect match on 80 and 160.

Also a thank you to Paul, VE3TA for lending me some gear needed for the trip.
