Comments:

As usual, had to work Saturday so this was a part-time effort but the overall
conditions were very good from my location and contacts using S & P were
plentiful until 3:00 PM local or so Sunday when the band started to get noisy
and signals were starting to fade. This is one of my favorite contests and I
like to go back and forth between CW and SSB after I make two or three sweeps
up/down the appropriate sub-band and then pop over to the other mode.

Antennas used were a ground-mounted Hy-Gain 18-AVT and a G5RV with the vertical
getting most of the RF this time around. Was pleasantly surprised to work New
Zealand (ZM90DX)on the first call with the vertical. It's been a good
performer for me during this current sunspot cycle and I worked Australia with
it for #100 on 12 meters last week too. The last 4 QSO's I made with it today
were all with JA's up to the last few minutes remaining in the contest.
