Comments:
Wow! First night it looked grim. Made 140 less Q's vs. last year (197 vs. 339)
and was on for an additional hour.
Next morning was a completely different story. The band opened early to Eu
(F2) and when that started drying up (5-6 hours later) Es produced an even
greater rate. Over a ten hour period I was able to maintain a 145/hr. rate for
a total of 1450 Q's during that period (including bio breaks!). In that 10 hour
period alone I made more Q's than the entire contest the previous year.
The second day was more of the same (at a somewhat reduced rate until I hit the
wall at about 2000 hours. I don't know if the band started to crater or I just
ran out of stations to work (likely a combination of the two) But it was back
to pulling teeth to the end.
Thanks for the Q's and the most fun I've had on 10 meters since I returned to
contesting in 2007.
