Comments:
A great time! 10m beat my expectations handily, and 15 and 20 were pretty good,
propagation wise. 40m was noisy, though - local noise here I believe - and 80m
and 160 were progressively worse, plus 40m went out during my break - a real
disappointment, especially when 80 was so noisy that I could barely copy
stations who obviously were copying me Q5. 160m was not only noisy but also
had QSB issues, so I didn't get very far there. It was big fun, though, and
most of the time people were hearing my 5 Watts and copying my call sign on the
first call.
Some might observe that I spent way too long on 15 and 20 and so missed the
best of 40, but I find the increased competition on the lower bands can
actually hinder my QRP station and I do a bit better where I'm not constantly
having to wait through pileups hoping for a gap when I can be heard.
Thanks to all who listened hard and pulled my very small signal out of the
aether. We'll see how things compare next weekend and I hope to c u there.
73 & best rx to all de kt8k - Tim
