Comments:
I conclusively proved that software driven remote control isn't really suitable
for NS or a Sprint - one reason I'll actually be driving down to K4VV to get on
for Saturday's Sprint.
When the NS started, the PC at K4VV that I remotely operated (using VNC and
Mumble) had about a 5 second delay - Mike W0YR had to reboot it, so didn't
start making QSOs until almost 20 minutes in.
With software only remote control, the only tuning is via the Up/Dn arrows or
bandmap clicking, so could really call CQ - hard to tune in anyone calling CQ
before they were done calling. The setup works great for the typically contest
as an assisted entry - either running or bandmap clicking - but not here.
Then, I had a lot of Call? repeats, as K4VV is not a well known call in NS or
Sprint circles - and is not an easy call to copy.
See you Saturday pm.
