Comments:

This was my golden opportunity to give the new NG7Z superstation (sic) a try.
I'm using a K2 and hamsticks and Hustler mobile antennas attached to the top
rail of the camper. I found a ground point only 6 inches away from the feed
point. Didn't hear any WRTC stations on 20 or 15 during the day but after it
got dark 40 meters was hopping. Worked several of them before bedtime around
midnight. I was really pleased with the performance of these mobile sticks.
It's hard for me to tell if the bands were in good shape given the nature of my
setup but it seemed like the high bands were lacking. I checked the solar data
and the K index was at 2 with a 60% chance of geomagnetic storms.

I had to balance my time on the radio with duties here at our daughter's home.
She is in Denver for 10 days and Marilyn and I are helping out with the two
grandkids.

In any event, I had a TON of fun getting on the air again with my own equipment
after a year off. This ham stuff is in my blood I suppose.
