Missed a couple of hours. WB9CIF stopped in - original plan was for him to
operate mobile from my driveway for 30 min or so - that didn't work - his
antenna was not working correctly. He did get to cool off for a bit (car A/C
not working) before heading on to Miami and Darke. I'm still figuring out what
works and doesn't work after a lighting strike about 3 weeks ago. Every time I
fix something, I find another issue. Started out running about 300 watts -
ended up with probably 90 as the amp kept faulting. Expect it either the coax
or control wires going to the six-pak. Was planning on doing all CW but did
QSY for 4 stations. Bands were noisy but fairly decent. Had a couple nice
runs on 20 into EU. Not much from the west. Fun to follow the mobiles at the
end. K8MR, K8O, W9MSE, AE8M and K8RYU did a great job.
