We'll the 2014 SCQP is in the books... Last year was my first SCQP and I noticed
a significant increase in activity this year. Thanks to all who participated in
the SCQP. We had very good mobile/rover/portable activity... Thanks to these
brave operators... N5NA, AD8J, Nd4Z and NC8N. I made most of my QSOs on 40m and
conditions were pretty good throughout the event. I work most of the state qso
parties and it was fun to be an "In-State" participant for a change.
I enjoyed working a number of SC friends - too many to list. A special thanks
to those Out of State "regulars" that joined in the party - K2DSW,
WA4GQG, W8QNO, N4JF, KN4Y, K4BAI, K4BSK, K4LTA, w4BQF, W4DUK, N4MM, KK4HEG,
KJ4LTA, K4HC, W2OR, K2HVN, N1NN, WB4YZA, WA2WDT, W1DWA, N2JJ, W1END, N8II,
N4VV, N2JNE, K3TW, KS4X,W4ZPR and KI0I. It was nice not having to compete
against these guys for a change! I also worked OM2VL, Laci 3 times. The new
spotter page really helped when contacts were slow, especially on 40m. I ended
up working 31 of our 46 counties. Thanks again to all who participated and I
look forward to an even better 2015 SCQP! 73's Dave WN4AFP
