Comments:
Well, this contest is a real challenge even with high power from this part of
the globe.
I've learnt from past experience that Scandinavians almost always run, rarely
S&P, so for our part S&P is the way to go.
The first 4 hours, I kept >30 hourly rates, but thereafter it really
suffered, getting down to less than 10Q/hr. I made 281Qs during 16hrs (while
the bands are open) that makes about 17Q/hr average.
As I saw from past reports, Scandinavian participants are 250~300 range
(including little pistols, QRP etc) so probably the number of stations workable
from this area should max out at something like 150~. On Sunday where we have
the 'second opening' on high bands, it felt like 15m was definitely 'dried
out'. No more stations to work! Moving down to 20m where signals was weaker
though, but more productive for finding unworked stations, was a good strategy
at that time.
To repeat, this was a touch challenge, but it gave me a lot of opportunity for
practicing SO2R (S&Ping on main band and CQing on sub band) with the new
N1MM Plus logger.
Thanks for all Qs!!
