Comments:
I believe this is best CW score for me from W9 as S/O...cool!
Weekend started well with Chicago Blackhawks beating Anaheim Ducks on
Friday...then beating LA Kings on Saturday night! Take that Southern CA!
Heck Packers beat New England! Let's not talk about DUH Bears...hah!
Had great expectations for this contest given the solar numbers leading up to
this weekend. Ended up spending about four hours at the gym during Saturday
morning EU opening (which was planned so not too bad). Then was pulled into
support for month end processing for work once I got home which took up about 6
hours....definitely not planned!
Strategy was to work more on Sunday thinking that pileups would be thinned out
by then so that the mighty vertical, 100 watts, and central USA QTH could
really show its superiority (HAH!). Seemed to work well until later in the
contest when multiplier pileups were more populated. Someday I'll grow up to be
a real contester!
Earlier in the year I was planning to operate from The Bahamas. Even had a
placed reserved....probably 15m single band. Over the summer I ended up with
six months unemployment which impacted finances and caused cancellation of
those plans. Best part of the weekend though was XYL said I needed to "go
somewhere next year" since she didn't like me being home and not able to
spend time with her. Therefore I have a green light from XYL to be DX next
year! Awesome sauce!
Best of health to all,
Eric K9GY
