I enjoyed this 160 CW more than the recent CQ CW contest. CW is not my
preferred mode.
Maybe I should switch to N1MM+ since I used the "classic" version and
didn't hear all those 6's, 7's and PAC stations K4XL wrote about. Guess I am
one of the alligators mentioned by others. I easily worked anything I could
hear. Never heard Europe and missed
ND,PR,EB,PAC,SB,SCV,SDG,SF,SJV,SV,AK,NL,NT.
Ant is 133' of weird 93 ohm coax (feeding shield as fat conductor) shot over
tallest tree. Previous years it was an inverted "L", but this time
the "L" never happened so it was basically a vertical over four 1/4
wave radials attached to a 14AVQ with a big alligator clamp. Feedline is 150'
of RG-8X. There is room for improvement, but not for a beverage antenna. But
maybe for Ken's beverages :-)
