Comments:
Gave Qrp a try this year. It was more like Qrpp, with shortened 67' half sloper
at 35'! Had lots of fun. Made more Q's than I thought I would. Wasn't easy
though. Some stations I missed, I know I could have worked with 100 watts, as
they were S9 here! Tried off and on for the 6 hours I was playing, to work
KV4FZ. He had a solid S7, sometime S9 signal here the whole time. Bets I got
from him with my 4.5 watts was a couple ?? a couple times! Did manage one 6
pointer. Heard lots of CA, but they didn't hear me. I know I could have worked
em though if at 100 watts. I fought the urge though to turn the power!!
Lots of fun! Thanks to the great ears out there for hearing my puny signal. CU
again next year!
Happy New Year.
Operating Conditions: Icom 756PROIII at 4.5 watts to W8AMZ reduced half sloper
at 35 apex aimed at 60 degrees.
