Comments:

Put a big effort into building and installing a new 160M Inverted L since last
weekend. I've been using an 80M dipole with OK results for the past 5 years.
Amazingly the weather cooperated with bare ground and temps generally in the
30's. Got a reasonable SWR (2.5/1) in the CW portion with only two short ground
radials. Antenna is up about 60 feet on one end and 32 at the "L" end
fed with RG-8/X. Not perfect but IT WORKS! Snow moved in the day after the
antenna went in the air.

This was my best effort ever in a 160M contest with 16 DXCC countries in the
log and almost triple my previous best score. Finally I can hear stations that
are buried in QRN on the dipole.

Station: TenTec Omni 7 @ 100W, MFJ Differential T Tuner, Winkeyer USB, N1MM
Antenna: 160M Inverted L (TX and RX)

Thanks for the QSO's and being patient with heavy QRN at times.
No room for a beverage, but the L is a quantum leap better than the dipole.
