Comments:
Im not a CW guy, but this was a lot of fun. Didn't plan to operate more than a
few hours, but great conditions pulled me into a bigger effort.
Heavy snow over the past 3-4 weeks here outside Boston limited some of the
usual pre-contest antenna preparation. On 10m my tribander that is fixed South
and with bent 10m elements was my only option. Its amazing that I made as many
10m contacts as I did to EU, directly off the side of the antenna. It seemed to
work pretty well and I probably should not have ignored 10m for the first day.
I spent the first night in S&P before switching over to running for almost
all of the rest of the contest. I also got to shovel snow a couple times on
Sunday which was a complete change from sitting under the headphones.
