I wasn't sure that I was going to do much operating
this weekend. Was feeling generally under-the-weather,
with scratchy eyes and throat. Was unable to get into
the doctors office. Fortunately, Dr. Marv, N5AW,
diagnosed my problem in an email as an allergy, so I
ran to the drug store and got some allegy pills.
Took them Friday and into Saturday and was feeling
much better by Sunday.

My logging computer shut down and rebooted with a little
over an hour to go. After rebooting it gave a cryptic
message about a critical hardware error. Seemed to
work ok during the remainder of the contest, but
that ten minutes off-air time really aged me!

As many have reported, 10 meters was pretty good
on Saturday, considering the sunspot activity, but
not up to the past year's signal strength. I spent
too much time trying to get something going on 10,
fearing that Sunday might be even worse. Fortunaely,
10 was better Sunday morning, although I never got
any good rate. Probably way too high in the band.
Had better than expected results running on 20. 160
was pretty noisy here; heard very few Europeans,
even at their sunrise both days, which is why my
multiplier count is down from last year.

Always amazing to see the big scores from 'out East'
