Comments:

To my beloved North American Amateur Radio Bretheren and Sisteren who are easily
confused, please take a moment to reconcile the fact that the prefix of AK7AZ is
in NO way what so ever affiliated with the United States Post Office. That means
that you should not construe the prefix "AK" with the awesome state of
ALASKA!! Ergo, AK7AZ is NOT a DX station for this contest.

Do you also construe all of those poor Alaskan stations with a prefix
"AL" as being from Alabama.... on second thought ...do NOT answer
that question as I fear I already know the answer.

This used to be my least favorite contest because the lack differentiation
between the post office and amateur radio. But this year was a bit different as
my team had a special message recorded for those operators that espoused such
lid-tastic behaviour. We had fun recording it and sharing it when the
opportunity presented itself. Many operators actually enjoyed listening to it
and a good laugh was had by most. I actually had one operator request that a
copy of it be emailed to him.

With this fun message, the fun factor was raised on this contest... even though
the points were not that great.

I want to express my thanks to Foster N3KCJ and Steve K0DVH for coming out and
putting in some time with BIC. Albeit, 1.3 million is not all that great...we
still had fun.

We did not put out a big "all-out" effort for this contest as we knew
what operator challenges lie ahead of us so we put in a nice relaxing effort and
I was able to do some minor tweeking and refinement of our systems for future
SSB contests.
