Comments:
That was fun. My working life plus lots of non hamradio stuff took me away from
radio activity as well as from contesting so being back into this major event
with such a score pleases me a lot.
Started on 40m late saturday morning. No decent low bands antennas here plus
the 5W thing makes it a real pain hence I decided to sleep more and rest.
40m survived for a long period on saturday till I switched to 15m where USes
started to improve their signals. Not a news 15 is my best band in terms of
both, number of QSOs and number of mults.
10m were nice on day one, excellent on day two. They kept being open way past
what I was used to see and that allowed me to gain lots of unexpected
multipliers.
20m were my worse band overall. At 12.20Z I had a fault on 20m antenna and that
forced me to more than an hour of off time in order to just build a quick dipole
and hang it on a tree's branch under some heavy rain. The dipole was not exactly
the same compared to the other antenna but hey, "any antenna is better than
no antenna".
S&Ped all the contest till midnight of the second day when I reached the
number of 300Qs (well, 302 with two dupes for not IDing) and the reported score
that absolutely pleases me.
It has been fun, can't wait to enter CQ WPX SSB too.
