That was fun!
Six weeks of continuous business travel left me unmotivated to make a serious
effort. But, the start and conditions were so great that I kept coming back to
the radio all weekend.
Especially enjoyed watching the online scoreboard at cqcontest.net. Each time I
sat down, I would try to catch the scores ahead of me. Great fun and definitely
kept me operating more than I had planned.
Nice to see round the clock conditions on 20 meters. Was amazing to work
Europeans for 3 hours after their sunrise on 40m. Worked JA on 15m at all
different times during the day.
Only blemish on the contest is the increasing number of wide signals. More than
one great frequency was ruined by someone 700 Hz away. I hear them, but they
don't hear me.
No alarm clocks all weekend. Took a wonderful nap on Sat afternoon. Definitely
didn't help the score, but sure felt great.
