Comments:

It was a very nice evening to be out and about!
I listened for most of three hours from CN87 and CN97, but heard nothing from
the north. A few locals, and of course Darryl WW7D/R out working the grid
corner, and I think he was hearing everyone on the air. This is the first
time in at least two years, that I have had the had the DEM 222 transverter on
the air. It is driven by a modified Uniden HR2600 (very similar to a R/S
HTX-100, but has FM capability), and running about 8 watts into an 11 el
Cushcraft at about 20 feet. I also used a Kenwood mobile with a mag mount for
223.5FM.
I heard only seven unique call signs this evening, among the 18 Q's recorded.
Eight of the logged Q's were with WW7D/R; in and out and back again, to four
different grids. I worked N7EPD, KE7SW, K7ND and KG7P from each grid, along
with AC7T and KB7PSG from Grid CN97.
