Comments:
Kenwood TS-950SD, Heil BM-10, and home brewed G5RV up 50 feet,running N-S at
6,053 feet elevation from Laramie County.I missed Lake and Marin counties,so no
"clean sweep" like I had in 2001, 2012, and 2014, but I easily
qualified for the "Gold Rush" Challenge Coin (with 3 special calls
worked for every letter except "H") Thanks, K6H for being my only
"H", and getting me my coin!160,15,and 10 meters were a total bust
for me during the times that I had to operate this year. A major contest
turnout like CQP generates, sure cuts down on the "haters", but I
still got a few folks who responded to my "CQ-CQP" call,by
saying..."Well I'm not really in the contest, so I don't have a serial
number for you--"I just hear you calling". Hi-Hi! All in all, it was
another "Boy and his Wire Adventure" for this 58 year old, who did
alright for an Apartment QTH using a 150 watt,26 year old rig, but this was by
no means my best CQP effort. Always a blast, and my favorite state level
contest. I'll be back !
