Really bad. Really, really, really bad propagation.
I think that had a significant effect also on the number of participants, but
fortunately there was at least moderate activity from Europe and Scandinavia. I
am in the midst of an integrated circuit "tapeout" at work and had a
50-hour week behind me going into the contest, so I went into the contest
thinking I'll just bring one more station on the air for SAC, do what I can,
and that's it. But once the race started, it was 100% action :)
It was fun to follow the developments on the cqcontest.net scoreboard. Was only
missing the data from OH0Z but heard the serial number every now and again;
shall we come and configure the scoreboard for you, Tomi?? :) Thanks for the
nice battles, guys! During the 23z hour I made only 5 QSOs and decided to go to
bed, getting up every hour or so to check for any changes in conditions. That
was a good decision and felt nice for a change!
