Our new club is not in the drop down list: Big Sky Contesters
Felt like someone put a governor on my engine at the start. Just nothing.
Definitely made the wrong decision to start on 10, but I got lulled in by a few
reports telling me I was loud. I had people lined up on the second radio to
call when I got a lull, and I couldn't help but notice that most of those guys
were going faster than I was! That's not how contest starts are supposed to be
out here ....
20m was much better a few hours later, but the malaise carried over to 40
meters as the night went on. I was surprised to work so few W6's. A lot of
hardware aimed in that direction, but I worked more W2's than W6's. Go
figure.
Amazed to work a VE6, always a tough mult here. Thankfully someone working
VE6EX sent his call or I would have had no idea he was there (Q power on 15
meter backscatter!!).
Very nice scores from W5 this year. Congrats to all the scorers big and
small.
