Comments:

This is one of my favorites. I sure if I could just keep my but in the chair I
could do better but that's another story. Rumors of 10 meters being kaput are
only partially true. 10m is trying to turn into a cadaver and must might be
successful in the next few months. I did manage a few on 10m but it's not like
it was in the recent past. As usual 15m was the heavy lifter. I think if it
wern't for the Japanese my score would be dismal. I'm always amazed how good
of operators they are. If the rest of the world would operate in the same
manner they would generally do better. My pet peve are the operators that
insist on running at 35-45wpm. They would do much better if they would just
slow down a bit. At 25-30wpm they would probably complete more Qs without
repeats. Also the sigs from Europe coming over the pole gets Doppler shifted
due to real time variations in propagation which has the effect of mushing the
symbols a bit thus making the cw harder to read. Again, if they just slowed
down a bit their Q rate would improve. Oh well, there is always something.

The next big one for me is the RTTY roundup but I do plan on the 160 contest
next weekend. Hopefully I can fix the bias-T that has gone south so I can
switch in the 50uH inductor at the base of my 43' vertical. Perhaps someday
I'll put up a real antenna for 160.
