Comments:
Over the last 4 years I usually started the contest on 10m
-contest starts at 6 PM local- where I could catch JA's
and/or OC stations; this time I found it closed!
Fortunately, two good things happpened:
- 15M was still in good shape, with good assortment of AS and OC mults.
- 20M and the low bands were very acceptable just bothered at times due
to static rain. This resulted in almost doubling the QSO's on
80M and 160M, versus last year.
I was very tired and went to bed at 0737z, over slept;
resumed at 1421 doing S&P on 15M and 10M for the first 2 hours.
Then it was mostly runnning adn doing selective S&P
The last 2 hours was a frantic search for mults which yielded
very good results.
Despite having 40% less QSOs on 10M versus last year,
the rest of the bands were in such good shape, that made possible
to surpass my previuos best raw score by almost 50% (2013),
and setting a new claimed XE record.
One thing that I acknolwledge that helped me to keep pushing,
was the Contest On-line server at cqcontest.net
Kudos to the developer, it is really awesome.
I just wish more people in.
One of the great features it has (among multiple ones)
are the charts by the hour!
