Comments:
Started out planning to do single band 15m and work other bands on the second
radio, after the band closed, etc. Had so much fun doing it that I ended up
switching to all band and staying in the chair for all 48 hours! This is the
best contest, with all its complexity and activity.
Radios: FT-1000MP Mark V's and Alpha 99CS amps
One computer: Windows XP, Win-Test
DX Doubler for SO2R support.
Beverages: in various levels of working, NE 1100', NE 2x580' spaced 140', SE
580', NW 580', SW 550'
160: Half wave sloper from 165
80: Inverted vee at 150
40: 2/2, 165/75', lower 2el fixed on NE
20: 5/5/5, 140/100/50', middle and lower fixed on NE
15: 6/6, 135/90', lower fixed NE
10: 7/7/7, 105/70/35', middle and lower fixed on NE, upper rotator brake
failed, weathervaning
Still fixing problems after a lightning strike, and a tornado, so not
everything was ready, but having all six bands working sort-of was great.
Ended up close to my PR from 2013, without pushing the first day and having all
the rotators/antennas/switching working right, so I'm quite happy with the
result. Congrats to N9RV and VE3JM for the big Zone 4 scores!
