This contest was lack luster to say the least! Many hours were spent at the
radios hoping for a band opening that never happened! It was tough to see the
the band openings the Northeast states had. I saw some ham in FL worked a VK
using a digital mode.
It was hard making some of my Q's as I had to do mostly S&P. Stations were
"Bursting" on 6 meters and I would have to call multiple times to
make a QSO! To top all that my 6 meter rotator azimuth indicator quit working
and I had no idea where I was pointing! Did you ever have to teach your wife
how to use a compass? I had to send her outside with a compass to tell me where
my 6 meter Yagi was pointing! "Murphy's Law", whatever can go wrong
will and at the worst possible time!
Well the contest was a real challenge for me and made me adapt for the
problems! However my problems were nothing compared with the VP8STI
DX'Pedition!
