Comments:
Wow -- 10 meters (and the local weather) were hot mid Sunday morning. Many
Europeans were 59 ++, louder at times than the Caribbean and central Americans.
Best DX was FH/IK5ZUI. ES5Q was also a new one for me, first weak then popped
up s-9 at 1800z. ES5Q and SK3W had strong aurora polar flutter. HB9AUS was 20
over 9 at 1815z. I operated "fixed mobile" with a full size 1/4 wave
whip and MFJ tri-magnet mount on roof of car, radio FT-897. There was a
geomagnetic storm on Sunday and the Kp peaked at 7. Usually geomagnetic storms
wipe out the polar and European paths, but sometimes there is enhancement. On
Saturday I had to work, but was able to get on for 15 minutes and picked up
three Hawaiians, 6Y, ZP and XE.
