Comments:

Oh how "Murphy's Law" bites..and hard on 6M!
Had over 700 qsos by 11AM, Sunday morning.....then lost power until 6PM--7
hours of "forced down time" during peak of band openings does not
make for a good score. Picked up slightly over 200 more qsos after power
returned but the "mood" had been broken and went QRT 2 hours before
end of contest (a psychological "#$%&" blurting-out moment--LOL).
Sorta frustrating to watch the spots across NA in all RED color lines from
battery operated laptop during outage Sunday (a "look what I'm
missing" exclamation..or a "jump up-and-down and pull out your
hair" tantrum period)!
Had picked up 10 grids in Europe on Saturday but only a few Caribbean stations
even heard all contest. Most exciting "run" was 21 qsos in
ID/MT/OR/WA/UT/VE5/VE4 areas two hours or so before midnight on Saturday.
Interesting Saturday afternoon when backscatter was in while beaming East and
worked 1/2/3/4/8/VE2/VE3s--not a peep direct though.
Only worked a few W5s (worked more stations in WASH. than entire 5 call
area....hmmm) and not one W6 even heard entire contest.
Radio (new ICOM IC-7600 and trusty Lunar-Link amp.) and antennas (4x9 on
rotating tower and 4x7 fixed stack across US) performed flawlessly again.
Mostly very cold and windy gusts (30-40 MPH from N/NW)all day Saturday
afternoon and early evening created tiring struggles to hear weaker signals
that were usually "easy" to copy on a normal day--another
"Murphy's Law" debacle. Oh well, there's the CQ VHF CONTEST coming up
in July--another fingers crossed weekend on the horizon!
