Comments:

I decided to wave the New Brunswick flag around a little in this one and to
simply stop when I stopped having fun. That was at 11:12pm local

Contest started with a bang and 15m sounded like it was on fire and I made 30
Q's in the first 13 minutes. It was also very quiet.

When 15m dried up, I checked on the health status of 10m and never heard a
thing. (checking with the second radio until I QRT'd I never heard a single
signal there, except local VE9CB....sigh)

About 30 in a severe thunderstorm rolled in and 20m sounded like 160m. I asked
for lots of repeats. Strangely enough, there are those that send their report
and instantaneously QSY (thinking I am sure, that I *MUST* have copied their
name/state all OK.) I am not slow on the KB, and when I did not hear a piece
of info, I immediate tap a key that says "name?" and a few guys just
never came back...weird !

So, with only 45minutes in I took my first off time, grudgingly and unhooked
everthing as the storms rocked the house, flooded the yard and 15,000 NBers
lost their power.

When I got back on, the T-storms had passed but they were still close enough
that the QRN , even on 15m, where I was only S&P, took out most signals.

I tried a bit of dual CQ'-ing, a la N6MJ and in 98% of cases it seemed to work
well, as this contest (at least here in the summer) is slow enough, you can
pretty much keep up with things)

40m was pretty good, and if you look at my QSO #'s, my score sheet looks like a
bell curve. Nuttin on 10&15 and I stopped too early to do serious damage to
80/160, hi !

HAd a good time...sorry for all the (QRN) repeats. Glad to see the fellas
honouring those contesters lost this year, like Ron, Jerry, Rich, etc.

Thanks to VE9CB (VO1AU) for running the bands with me. I actually remembered
to ask ! (though only 2 or 3 other guys asked ME)

Mike, VE9AA in NB.......2 x IC7410 and wires.....nothing here > 35' AGL
