Comments:

Had fun in the Contest as long as I could. Thanks for all the Qs and Mults.

Conditions on 40 were okay except for all the weather generated noise. Wasn't
sure how much time I would have or could put into the Contest for the Team. As
it turned out, the weather was a factor followed by just plan too tired to
continue.

Got home from vacation Sat. afternoon. By the time enough was unpacked and put
up to turn on the radio, the weather had closed in with thunderstorm in the
area. Watched the WX radar until looked like the storms had past. Connected
the antenna and was surprised at a 7:1 SWR. Antenna was okay when left on
vacation so what had happened. The antenna still looked okay. What could be
wrong? The only thing different, unless lightning had hit the ant., was the
disconnection/reconnection of PL259 and SO239 at the outside feedline junction
box. Removed the PL259 and cleaned it and the SO239, reseated the PL259 and SWR
was normal! So between the weather and the SWR mess up, didn't get started
until ~2130Z. Then all I could do was try to do S&P through the static
build up on the antenna. Was able to hear a few stations loud enough to copy.
Fortunately, after about 1/2 hour, the static level dropped low enough to run.

Continued running for the next 3 1/2 hours and by then I was too tired to
"run" on CW. Tried coffee, but didn't help. Had to call it quits at
~0130Z. Sorry couldn't contribute more points to the Team.

Again, thanks to all who were kind enough to work me. All QSOs appreciated.

  73,
  Mike, K4GMH
