Congratulations to all of the teams around the world that had fun this weekend
in the CQWW Phone Multi Multi category.
We had lots of fun at K3LR - the very best part is being with good
friends in the K3LR shack and talking to our radio friends all over the world.
48 hours of pure magic that never ever gets old.
Special congratulations to the teams at WE3C and W3LPL . Both teams did very
well considering the challenging conditions. It is great to have this close
competition never knowing who will finish on top.
Thanks to ALL of the operators at K3LR for special moments - new stories and
making memories that last a life time with our friends. Propagation was not
very good, but 10 meters hung in there with N3GJ finding rare openings on skew
and bent paths, running like crazy when the band did open and never giving up
on a QSO. 10 meter band mate LU7DW was always chasing down multipliers on the
second station. The 15 meter team of K3UA and AA5B (first time for Bruce at
K3LR) really stayed busy adapting to the propagation. 20 meters was amazing
K1AR, M0DXR and N3SD were busy for all 48 hours what a team! 40 meters was much
harder this year but W5OV, W2RQ and K3LA never gave up - good job by these
veteran contestmen. 80 meters with N5UM and K3LA worked very well. N2NC did his
usual job of working through tough conditions on the topband to find lots of
multipliers! Way to go John!
We were sad that Sal, WM2H and his assistant Liv could not join us this time
" as Sal is recovering from some blood clots. They will be back with us
in March.
Thanks to Dave, W9PA for all of the hard work he does to get us ready for the
contest events. We could not do it without W9PA. Also thanks to Bob, N6TV for
help setting up the new voice keyer commands (inside the Icom 7851). Greg,
W8WWV and Tim, W3YQ both spent days here at K3LR over the summer helping with
various antenna and shack projects. Big thanks guys!

In a few weeks we will post our CQWW Phone 2016 photos on the CONTEST PHOTOS
area on the K3LR web site.
Hope to hear you on the air for the CQWW CW DX Contest in November!
