Comments:
I was hoping to beat an old score from the last time I did SB 80 in 1990 when I
was KE5FI. Did well the first day and thought propagation would be better the
second night. What could go wrong with that? Everything! First night I ran
some JAs starting around 0800, then some VKs a little later. Second night was
no JAs, no VKs only SA and VEs, plus scores of US zero pointers several of
which duped me! Arrrrg! I tried to tune for mults, but it got too tedious the
second night. I planned to get about a 1/2 hour nap the first night, but the
JAs got my adrenaline running. The second night I slept an hour and then
worked a few and pulled the switch at about 5 am local. There was no reason to
go on. Absorption was awful.
