Comments:
Congratulations to the K3LR team for another winning effort
and to the WE3C team for significantly improving their
competitiveness.
The W3LPL station was hit by an EF0 tornado on June 21,
destroying the 200 foot 10 meter tower and all of the
6, 10, 80 and 160 meter antennas attached to it. Rebuilding
began just a few weeks later.
Special thanks to N3RR who donated a 200 foot heavy duty
AB-105 tower and K3LR and W8WWV who shared the design details
of their latest 8 element 10 meter OWA Yagi.
Thirty-six members of the Potomac Valley Radio Club and
the Columbia Amateur Radio Association worked countless
hundreds of volunteer hours over the next four months clearing
the wreckage of the old tower and antennas and installing the
new 200 foot tower and antennas. They included:
