Comments:
Conditions were great too bad Murphy kicked my butt... missed most of first two
and a half hours fixing minor problems, but when I got going at 0030z the band
was hopping! I was having a blast with new AL-82 running 1300 watts instead of
my K3S barefoot. Was looking forward to an all out effort the second night.
Started second night out, couldn't believe how loud the European stations
were, made a few contacts then everything went dead. Murphy struck hard.
Antenna wire on loop broke at apex so I was QRT after only 9 hours on. No hope
of lowering 20 meter tall mast in pitch black night(no moon) and making repairs
, so basically only was on one night. But it was still fun!!! On the the ARRL
tests....!
