Comments:
While checking a noise issue right before the contest, I noticed that the coax
feeding the NE and SE verticals on the 4 square were nearly chewed through. I
had to make quick repairs - first repairs made to this antenna since I put it
up in 2009.
I started the contest working XE2X and ended the contest working XE2S. First
night did not work EU until 0400Z. THe second night was much better as EU was
heard and worked before 0030Z. Had some good runs working 67 EU station the
second night. P33W was loud calling in followed by IZ1LGB and IQ9UI. Although
for me the best catch was working GU4YOX for a new one on Top Band (#258).
Conditions to JA were pretty good. Logged 82 the first night and 68 the second
night. Being called by BD5XX and HS0ZIS near the end of the contest was a
bonus.
Thanks to all who called in and especially my Outlaw buddies. I finally got
back in the saddle!
