Comments:

Fun contest despite conditions.

I chose to go back to some single band entries this year and focus back on my
favourite band, 15m.I know that the current solar conditions won't allow much
fun in such a category but I still find it fascinating to be on a band for an
entire weekend and learn when it starts to open (or close) towards a given
direction. That said I did some casual contacts on other bands as well just to
"kill some time" and do some "run".

Run the coax from the station to the rised antennas on Saturday late morning
under some heavy rain. Wish I could have fixed serious antennas...
Tried to keep two radios on the same band (for the only purpose of
experimenting it) and it is doable as long as the power doesn't exceed 25-30W.
It is good for QRP but not if you need to run 100W to be picked up at 10dBs by
skimmers. After the quick experiment I then resumed to the 1 radio setup and
went with it.
Sunday conditions were much better than saturday with the first day netting
only 8 contacts on 15 while the second half of the contest took that number to
33.
It has mostly been a CW contest with 80% of the contacts on such a mode.

The 3 element has been essential to accomplish most of the QSOs and was fun to
hear VKs and ZLs (not in this contest but taking part to FOC) disappearing
under the noise once switching to the vertical.
Only been active for 4 hours since conditions were not cooperating and didn't
feel like forcing myself to sit the whole weekend for a couple more Qs.

Had fun during the time I've been active and that is the most important thing.

ARRL DX CW should be next one, let's hope for better conditions.
