Comments:
Had a fun time in the contest this year. Got off to a good start Friday night
doing S&P on 20 and 40. Tons of stations to work, mixture of EU and
stateside. Saturday was more of the same, but the bands did not seem to want to
open up to EU. Had about an hour and a half down time due to some technical
issues with the rig, but was able to get things sorted. Saw and worked many EU
stations, but had bad QSB. 40 meters played well though, nice openings into EU
and the Middle East. Worked 7Z1SJ after several attempts, which was my best
overall contact in the contest. Saw several other Middle East stations, but was
unable to work them due to heavy pileups.Sunday I struggled to make Q's as the
bands did not seem to want to play well, saw openings to EU off and on all day
but signals were weak. Nice opening to SA on 15 meters, nothing heard all
weekend on 10 meters. My time on is way off in N1MM, due to the fact that I left
everything running overnight. I would say that I was actually on the air about
20 some-odd hours overall. Had the pleasure of working fellow Swamp Foxers K7OM
and NJ4F, also got to work my good friend KR1ST Alex in Pa on a couple of
occasions.
