Comments:
Trying out my new TS-590 in weak-signal contest conditions. Was quite pleased
with this radio that now will replace a well used TS-570 as SO2R companion with
the K3.
Signals were generally weak, just above the noise, and I was curious to see
what kind of stations that I was able to hear, and that were able to hear me
calling, so did a few qrz.com look-ups. I mostly saw pictures of big towers
with lots of aluminium on top. So I guess there weren't made many small station
to small station contacts, at least not from northern Europe, in this year's
ARRL DX.
On 20m I tried a few CQs that instantly were spotted on the RBN, of which the
most succesful attempt managed to generate a pile-up of 7 successive calls in a
5 minute period!
