Part time effort. I wasn't sure how much time I would put into the contest but
the allure of working some new band mults was fun....now that the neighbors
don't seem to complain with me running legal limit...even on low bands! Yay!
As a SS "specialist", and with my almost 30 years of running LP, I
wasn't used to having DX stations asking me to move to the lower bands. (I had
a lot of difficulty working 80 and 160 with sloper/LP/and high local noise
levels in the past).
I was pleasantly surprised to see that the log showed 6 band Qs with KP2, ZF,
TI, PY PJ2 and PJ4.
15 never really opened much further east than 0 degrees longitude and I had to
be content with 9A, CT, EA, EA6, F and EI. Working F on 80 was a surprise.
Hey! It may seem routine to you guys on the East coast but Eu on 80 is tough
from 49.9 -97.3 this far north!! I think that may be my first over the pond Q
on 80.
All in all a very pleasant surprise and a lot more fun than I would have
thought. I would have liked to see some JA runs and more consistent EU on 40
from here. (Sigs were very weak) Still having a few RF problems in shack on 15
and 40 with HP.
Thanks for the Qs and glad I codul help with the VE4 mult.
