Comments:

This contest was 'different' and I'm still recovering.
I guess I'm starting to feel my age (i.e. OLD :)

Friday night was a real slug-fest but I was able to prevail most of the time.
I started on 20M for the first hour where the head bashing was intense.
Then I moved to 40M for 2 hours which were highly productive.
I continue to be amazed at the 40M performance of my 80M ladderline fed sloper
to the East which covers the full Eastern Hemisphere quite well (but with a
deep NULL to the West). (NO, I still haven't replaced coax to CC 2L40.)

I added a parasitic reflector wire behind my 80M Elevated GP beaming 30 degrees
and was pleased with how well it hears and performs from JA through Africa.
Another 80M Wire Vertical and reflector (with ground rod but NO radials) are
aimed SE.

160M was a challenge. I was unable to hear any of the European spots Friday
night after losing access to adjacent properties to run Beverages.
Fortunately, Saturday night provided a good opening to Europe but a few locals

showed me up on Top Band...

20M was HOT and 15 was good to most of Europe except Scandinavia during the
short morning opening. 10M was very intermittent to the Caribbean and S.A. No
Europe, only ZS in Africa, and E5,KH6,ZL in the Pacific. Welcome to the SunSpot
doldrums...

Icom 746 with 250+500 Hz Filters (LOVE that so-easy-to-use Radio)
Newly acquired AL-82 performed flawlessly. Almost NEVER TUNED UP,
just set pointers to lines on paper behind the knobs and hit the key.
NO Problems. The 3-500s don't even complain when the wrong antenna is
accidently switched in.
